Our first stop on this bestselling tour is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listing and the location of the world´s oldest existing parliament. This is also where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet and are pulling apart at a rate of 2 cm annually, creating numerous rifts and fissures that crisscross the surrounding landscape. Our next stop is the Geysir geothermal area where the erupting hot spring, Strokkur keeps visitors entertained by spouting boiling water and steam skywards every ten minutes. Our third and last stop is the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall. The impressive cascades are formed as the Hvítá glacial river plunges down 32 meters and into a deep canyon. After visiting Gullfoss waterfall, we make our way back to Reykjavik.
